Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood vs. J.L. Mann

Greenwood is 0-5 against J.L. Mann since May of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will face off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Greenwood comes in on four and J.L. Mann on 19.

Greenwood's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Woodmont with a sharp 5-0 win. Greenwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Easley kept up with J.L. Mann until halftime on Monday, but afterwards: not so much. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Green Wave. J.L. Mann better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Timmy Reardon, as he scored every single goal for his team.

J.L. Mann pushed their record up to 19-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 11 matches. As for Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7-1.

Greenwood couldn't quite get it done against J.L. Mann in their previous matchup on April 4th as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
