Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Mt. Vernon hadn't done well against New Castle recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Marauders blew past the Trojans 3-0. For the Marauders, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

The win didn't come easy: New Castle scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for New Castle, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Zionsville on the 20th. As for New Castle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Fishers on the 20th.
