Softball Recap: Lake Braddock Starts off Right with Win over South County

Lake Braddock had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the South County Stallions. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mac Verdejo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Lake Braddock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mae Brewin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Brewin has posted since back in April of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Braddock will venture away from home to square off against Oakton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South County, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge West Potomac at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
