The Rancho Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Bonanza Bengals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Rancho was able to grind out a solid victory over Eldorado, taking the game 4-1.
Johnny Ramos made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mayson Bumstead was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Aiden Pineda, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.
Rancho kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Bonanza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Durango, falling 14-4.
John Willard made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Rancho has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Bonanza, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16-2.
Rancho suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Bonanza in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
