Recap: Austin Mustangs vs. Milby Buffs
The Austin Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Milby 52-22 on the road. This was payback for Austin, who suffered a 45-17 loss the last time these two teams met.
Austin found their leader in underclassman Ashtian Glass, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Destiney Armstrong, who scored nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Milby lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Alanys Perez. Despite the final result, she scored five points along with five rebounds.
Austin's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-5. As for Milby, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Austin will be home for the holidays to greet Waltrip at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Waltrip is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Milby, they will head out on the road to face off against Northbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northbrook comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
