            Baseball Preview: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. Walnut Ridge Scots        
        
		
        
        
            The Marion-Franklin Red Devils will square off against the Walnut Ridge Scots at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Marion-Franklin has given up an average of 10.2  runs per game this season, but Wednesday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Marion-Franklin took a loss when they played away from home  on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Monday. They walked away with  a   16-13  victory over South. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous   game.
 Eddie Martinez was a standout: he got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  stolen bases, one  triple,  and one  run. He also put up a  double, which was his first of the season.  Tony Jared was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Marion-Franklin was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .464. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
 Meanwhile, Walnut Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They came up short against  Briggs, falling  8-1.
 Marion-Franklin now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Walnut Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
 Everything went Marion-Franklin's way against Walnut Ridge in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024, as Marion-Franklin made off with  a  20-11 win. Do  the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scots turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
