Volleyball Recap: Winthrop College Prep Academy Victorious

Winthrop College Prep Academy took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Universal Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans won by a set and slipped past the Falcons 3-2. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Winthrop College Prep Academy took Universal Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 15-11.

The victory made it two in a row for Winthrop College Prep Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-8. As for Universal Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Winthrop College Prep Academy and Universal Academy will both be playing Foundation Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Spartans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
