Soccer Game Preview: Sonoraville vs. Pepperell

The Sonoraville Phoenix will head out on the road to square off against the Pepperell Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sonoraville has seven straight wins, Pepperell has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Sonoraville's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Murray County 4-0. Considering Sonoraville have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Mullins and Juliet Kindl scored all four of Sonoraville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Meanwhile, Pepperell lost 7-2 to Temple on Wednesday.

Sonoraville pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Pepperell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Sonoraville took their win against Pepperell in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sonoraville since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
