After a string of four wins, Monessen's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 71-55 fall against Neighborhood Academy. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Neighborhood Academy are ranked 44th).

Monessen's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Neighborhood Academy, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1.

Monessen will challenge Serra Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monessen knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Serra Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Neighborhood Academy, they will square off against Environmental Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neighborhood Academy is facing Environmental Charter at the right time seeing as Environmental Charter is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
