Softball Recap: Indiana School for the Deaf Gets the Win

Indiana School for the Deaf's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Waldron Mohawks by a score of 29-24. For the Deaf Hoosiers, this counts as revenge for the 17-2 victory the Mohawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.

Tiana Starayev was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Starayev, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Indiana School for the Deaf's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Waldron, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Indiana School for the Deaf will take on Eminence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waldron, they will face off against Crothersville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
