Baseball Recap: Mid Valley Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Mid Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans on Tuesday. Considering the Spartans have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Nick Mills, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Anthony Balashaitis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mid Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greater Nanticoke Area only posted an OBP of .200.

Mid Valley pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Mid Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Scranton Prep on the 23rd. Greater Nanticoke Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
