Baseball Game Preview: University Cougars vs. Edgewater Eagles

University is 0-8 against Edgewater since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The University Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Edgewater Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (University has three straight wins, Edgewater has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when University took on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on Friday. University skirted past Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy 4-3. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

University saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Montanez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Montanez has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Edgewater fell victim to Lake Nona and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Lions.

Edgewater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

University might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Edgewater when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
