Middletown faced St. Georges Tech in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cavaliers' defense stepped up to hand the Hawks a 5-0 shutout. Considering Middletown have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Middletown, bringing their record up to 11-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for St. Georges Tech, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-4-2 record.

Middletown wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Indian River on the 14th. St. Georges Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
