Basketball Recap: Ayden Desmond's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southeast over Lingle-Fort Laramie

Southeast lost against Lingle-Fort Laramie two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Southeast Cyclones took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Cyclones players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ayden Desmond, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Desmond a new career-high. TJ Moats was another key player, putting up ten points and three blocks.

Lingle-Fort Laramie got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Arnusch out in front who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points along with five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Cook, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, their victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-39 win against Encampment on the 1st. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-36 victory against Pine Bluffs on the 1st.
