San Antonio Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Geneva by a score of 37-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2019.

A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Sloan Guillory and his top target Peyton Gordon. Guillory rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns while Gordon gained 110 total yards. Hudson Russell got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, San Antonio Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Geneva only rushed for 59.

San Antonio Christian's defense made their presence known, laying out Caleb Quitadamo. three times. In that department, Kash Kufahl was the leader with two sacks.

Several Geneva players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quitadamo, who threw for 388 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Brady Chandler was Quitadamo's top target, picking up 176 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

San Antonio Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Geneva, they will challenge La Pryor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
