Softball Recap: Seymour's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Seymour dropped their record down to 10-9-1 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 9-4 to the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-5. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly five runs.

For Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia's part, Mylee Tracy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Tracy has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mia McCombs was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Lucie Dion was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will host Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, they will welcome Barry Western at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
