Baseball Game Preview: Penn Manor Comets vs. Daniel Boone Blazers

The Penn Manor Comets are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Daniel Boone Blazers at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Penn Manor comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Penn Manor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 14-6 to Governor Mifflin on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Comets have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Billy Riggs was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Daniel Boone might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Fleetwood who claimed the real prize. Daniel Boone fell just short of Fleetwood by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Blazers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Maddox Roy and Chase Yenser did some serious damage despite the final result: Roy scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Yenser scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Roy also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Pence, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Penn Manor's record is now 0-4. As for Daniel Boone, their record now sits at 2-4.

Penn Manor suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Daniel Boone when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Can Penn Manor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
