Softball Game Preview: Palmview Lobos vs. Martin Tigers

Palmview has gone 9-0-1 against Martin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lobos will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Martin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Palmview, who comes in off a win.

Palmview's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Roma by a score of 3-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Lobos haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Abigail Cantu's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Yailyn Trevino was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Eissa Flores, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Meanwhile, Martin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Roma, falling 21-3.

Palmview's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Martin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-26.

Everything went Palmview's way against Martin in their previous meeting back in March, as Palmview made off with a 19-0 win. Do the Lobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
