Football Recap: Volunteer Skates Past Chuckey-Doak with Ease + How To Watch

While Volunteer put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Chuckey-Doak. The Falcons took their matchup with ease, bagging a 70-0 victory over the Black Knights. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.

A big part of Volunteer's victory came down to the chemistry between Lincoln Wilson and his top target Raymond Landry. Wilson threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt while Landry gained 184 total yards and five touchdowns. Wilson's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 308 passing yards. Amarion Graves was Wilson's top target, picking up 98 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Volunteer didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Owen Fleenor got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win (which was Volunteer's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Chuckey-Doak, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Volunteer will host Greeneville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Greene Devils' defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Chuckey-Doak, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pigeon Forge at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
