Baseball Recap: Minerva Comes Up Short

Minerva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Cambridge Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 14-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Minerva saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Barnes, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Lane Tarbet, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Minerva's record now sits at 7-14. As for Cambridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minerva will take on Garfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cambridge, they will face off against Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
