Basketball Recap: Sheffield Takes a Loss

Sheffield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles, falling 55-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-16 back in January.

Sheffield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Deonna Allen, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Candelaria Lopez, who earned five points and three steals.

Sheffield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Freedom Prep Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheffield will face off against Bluff City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they will take on Wooddale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
