Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Queensbury an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Ava Yahoudy made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake got a big performance out of Addisyn Knapik, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Knapik has posted since back in April. Grace Adone was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Queensbury, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
