Softball Game Preview: Grass Lake Warriors vs. Homer Trojans

The Grass Lake Warriors are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Homer Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grass Lake's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Flat Rock by a score of 3-0.

Meanwhile, Homer put another one in the bag last Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Olivet.

Brooklen Minix was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Julie Masternak was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Homer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Grass Lake skirted past Homer 11-9 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
