Soccer Game Preview: Kamehameha Kapalama vs. Punahou

Kamehameha Kapalama is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Punahou is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Kamehameha Kapalama Warriors will host the Punahou Buff n' Blue at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kamehameha Kapalama's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Mid-Pacific Institute. The Warriors' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Punahou). They put the hurt on Damien with a sharp 15-0 victory on Friday. Give the Buff n' Blue's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Damien from everywhere, as 13 different players booted in a goal. Aina Nakamura led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Kamehameha Kapalama's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Punahou, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
