The Jackson Day Mariners are taking a road trip to take on the Queen's Grant Stallions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen's Grant took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Jackson Day, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Jackson Day turned things around against Rocky River on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 13-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mariners considering their two-run performance the game before.

Owen Murphy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his two plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Caleb Burgin was incredible, getting two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in runs (three). Another player making a difference was Matthew Parson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Jackson Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.353. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Queen's Grant and Piedmont Community Charter had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Stallions fell 11-6 to the Patriots on April 1st. The Stallions have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Tyrell Byrd and Max Stathis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Byrd went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Stathis went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Byrd has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezequiel Abreu, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Jackson Day's record is now 3-10. As for Queen's Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Queen's Grant's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jackson Day hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Queen's Grant, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Jackson Day's hitters?
Jackson Day took their win against Queen's Grant when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-9 score. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
