Football Game Preview: Cate Rams vs. Chadwick Dolphins

For the first time this season, Cate will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Chadwick Dolphins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Cate is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. The matchup between the Rams and Thacher didn't end well, with the Rams falling 49-32.

Meanwhile, Chadwick faced Mammoth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dolphins took a 38-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. Despite 91 more yards than the Huskies, the Dolphins couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Bryson Edgar and Eli Ericson. Ericson had a great game and rushed for 160 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Edgar was balling out in the loss, rushing for 166 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Chadwick's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cate, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Cate against Chadwick when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 53-0 win. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dolphins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
