Softball Game Preview: Bordentown Scotties vs. Hightstown Rams

The Bordentown Scotties will face off against the Hightstown Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Bordentown has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Bordentown blew Rancocas Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Rancocas Valley got their revenge. The Scotties fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Scotties have suffered since April 24th.

Meanwhile, Hightstown waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Irish get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

Hightstown's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bordentown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8-1 record this season.

Bordentown took their win against Hightstown in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Scotties repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
