Basketball Recap: Grace Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Grace Grizzlies came up short against the Rich Rebels and fell 52-45.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rich to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drake Weston, who went 6 of 14 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and three steals. That's the most boards Weston has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Scott, who posted 12 points.

Grace has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Rich, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Grace will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on American Falls at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. American Falls will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Grace surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rich, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-55 defeat against North Summit on the 21st.
