Basketball Recap: Makai Resseau Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Grace Academy

Sound Christian won the last time they faced Grace Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sound Christian Lions were the clear victor by a 69-43 margin over the Grace Academy Eagles. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Sound Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makai Resseau led the charge by going 9 of 19 on his way to 23 points. Resseau's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kona Resseau, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Sound Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Sound Christian pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Grace Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Sound Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-25 victory against Pope John Paul II on the 6th. As for Grace Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-38 win against Shoreline Christian on the 7th.
