Minerva has been on a difficult stretch since their win on August 28. They lost 9-2 to the Sandy Valley Cardinals on Saturday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Minerva were already down 4-0.

Noah Morckel wasn't going to let Sandy Valley walk away unscathed as he scored both of Minerva's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

Minerva's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-2. As for Sandy Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

Minerva didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 defeat against Marlington on the 16th. As for Sandy Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Tuscarawas Valley on the 23rd.
