Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Trimm Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win

There's no place like home for George Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over the Denver East Angels on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 65-62 victory back in January.

George Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Trimm led the charge by going 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. That's the most assists Trimm has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Malachi Headrick, who went 5-for-7 en route to 13 points.

Several Angels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was FABIAN MORRIS, who went 8-for-14 on his way to 16 points. MORRIS is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. JAMES MURRAY was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and three steals.

George Washington pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Denver East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

George Washington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-48 defeat against Denver South on the 20th. As for Denver East, they have also already played their next game, a 74-31 victory against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on the 20th.
