Football Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

The matchup between Sandy Creek and Lowville on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Comets had to suffer through a 53-20 loss at the hands of the Red Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 116th).

Sandy Creek's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Hawn, who rushed for 62 yards and one TD.

Sandy Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lowville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
