Football Recap: Pelham Comes Up Short + How To Watch

There was early excitement for Pelham after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Helena who ended up claiming the real prize. The Panthers were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Huskies. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Pelham's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristen Rutledge, who rushed for 162 yards. Rutledge is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Dylan Smith was another key passer, throwing for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pelham now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Helena, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pelham will square off against rival Benjamin Russell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Smith and Kingston Preyear. Meanwhile, Helena is set to take on their familiar foe Chelsea at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
