Basketball Preview: Lake Worth Trojans vs. Forest Hill Falcons
Lake Worth is 2-8 against the Falcons since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Lake Worth Trojans will square off against the Forest Hill Falcons at TBD. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lake Worth has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while the Falcons will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Wednesday, Lake Worth had to suffer through a rough 58-17 loss at the hands of the Crusaders. Lake Worth was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.
Meanwhile, Forest Hill stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They really took it to Dr. Joaquin Garcia for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-15 win at home. Forest Hill pushed the score to 36-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.
Lake Worth dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.3 points per game. As for Forest Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Lake Worth might still be hurting after the 39-16 loss they got from the Falcons in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can Lake Worth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
