Basketball Recap: Blue Valley Tigers vs. Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers
Blue Valley had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 57-50 to the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trailblazers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Landri Schaffer was a one-man wrecking crew for Gardner-Edgerton as she dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Beasley, who scored five points plus three steals and two blocks.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Blue Valley and Park Hill will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Gardner-Edgerton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Blue Valley Southwest at 5:30 p.m. on December 17th.
