Baseball Game Preview: Westlake Warriors vs. Pitman Pride

The Westlake Warriors will face off against the Pitman Pride at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Westlake's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Harvard-Westlake 1-0.

Nathan Curiale looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Meanwhile, Pitman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turlock. The shutout was out of character for the Pride seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Westlake's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Pitman, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Westlake beat Pitman 6-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
