Baseball Game Preview: Lafayette Generals vs. Anderson County Bearcats

The Lafayette Generals will venture away from home to take on the Anderson County Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Lafayette and five for Anderson County.

On Wednesday, Lafayette came up short against Franklin County and fell 11-7.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Anderson County's offense. They came up short against Paul Laurence Dunbar on Monday, falling 10-0.

Anderson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Cole, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 24-16. As for Anderson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-17.

Lafayette beat Anderson County 8-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
