Basketball Game Preview: Meade County Green Waves vs. Nelson County Cardinals

The Meade County Green Waves will face off against the Nelson County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Meade County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Owensboro 76-58 on Saturday.

Peyton Bradley was her usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-10 from long range and dropping a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Meade County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Rider, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and three steals.

Meade County was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Nelson County blew past Seneca, posting a 57-25 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Nelson County pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.5 points. As for Meade County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Meade County against Nelson County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-51 win. Will Meade County repeat their success, or does Nelson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
