Baseball Game Preview: Beachside Barracudas vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles

The Beachside Barracudas will face off against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Beachside is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 20th on Thursday. They came up short against Hagerty, falling 14-4. The Barracudas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gavin Nickel was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Dalton Laroux also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Beachside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Fleming Island's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of McMinn Central on Thursday.

Fleming Island saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Swartz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Beachside's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Fleming Island, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
