Volleyball Recap: Frederick Douglass Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Western Hills

Frederick Douglass faced Western Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Frederick Douglass fell just short of Western Hills by a score of 3-2. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Frederick Douglass took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-13, 15-10.

Frederick Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Western Hills, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Frederick Douglass will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tates Creek at 6:30 p.m. on April 15. As for Western Hills, they will challenge Allen County-Scottsville at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
