Baseball Recap: Raytown South Comes Up Short

Raytown South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Kearney Bulldogs, falling 13-1. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Raytown South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcellus Goudeau, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Goudeau is becoming a predictor of the Cardinals' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't).

Raytown South's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Kearney, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

While Raytown South had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
