Warde waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 48-40 win over the Staples Wreckers. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 68-51 victory the Wreckers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Staples saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Smith dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Freya Harvey, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Warde's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Staples, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Warde will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th. Staples has already played their next game (against Bridgeport Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
