Basketball Recap: Faith Lutheran Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Faith Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Warren Bears 56-37 on Wednesday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 20th in Nevada, while the Bears are ranked 447th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Warren saw an underclassman step up: freshman King Johnson went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay'Mari Redmond, who posted five points and three steals.

Faith Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Warren, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Faith Lutheran and Spanish Fork will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Spanish Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season. As for Warren, they will be taking part in a tournament against Marina at 7:30 p.m. on December 26th.
