Ansonia came out on top against Newton Local  on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by  a  13-3 margin over the Indians. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
Ansonia got a great performance from  Bre Walker as she  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits.
 At the plate, Ansonia let  Addie Geyer and  Miley Walls run wild. Geyer  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  doubles, while  Walls  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  hits  Geyer has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avalyn Locke, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 Ansonia  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .594. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  win  got Ansonia back to even at 8-8. As for Newton Local, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 8-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ansonia will  face off against  rival National Trail  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Newton Local is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Twin Valley South  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
