Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chesnee

Chesnee had won two straight games and Elijah Brown did his part to make it three on Wednesday. The Chesnee Eagles came out on top against the R-S Central Hilltoppers by a score of 56-45 thanks in part to Brown, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 25 points and six boards. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Braylon Blanton was another key player, going 6 of 11 en route to 12 points and six assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Chesnee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for R-S Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesnee will host Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chesnee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Liberty likes a good challenge. As for R-S Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chase at 7:30 p.m.
