Even though the Nipomo Titans scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, the Morro Bay Pirates still came out on top. It was close, but Morro Bay capped 2023 with a 60-58 win over Nipomo. The win made it back-to-back wins for Morro Bay.
Jake Falat was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sergio Mendoza, who scored 12 points.
Morro Bay is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Nipomo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
