Basketball Game Preview: Seacrest Country Day Stingrays vs. First Baptist Academy Lions

Seacrest Country Day is 1-9 against First Baptist Academy since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Seacrest Country Day Stingrays will head out on the road to face off against the First Baptist Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. Seacrest Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Seacrest Country Day beat Imagine School at North Port 54-46.

Seacrest Country Day can attribute much of their success to Brady Barnaby, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, and Ethan Bates, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. The game was Bates' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Leon, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, First Baptist Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 62-36 margin over Clewiston. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Tigers are ranked 649th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

First Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Seacrest Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Seacrest Country Day came up short against First Baptist Academy in their previous matchup back in November, falling 52-47. Can Seacrest Country Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
