It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Elsinore ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Tahquitz Titans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-6 last Wednesday.
Jacob Farias made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Farias wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Robert Gates, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most hits Gates has posted since back in April of 2024.
Elsinore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Elsinore is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Tahquitz's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
