Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Oak Lawn's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chicago Mt. Carmel, Oak Lawn was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Shepard Astros by a score of 71-61. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Astros are ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oak Lawn is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Shepard, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Oak Lawn will take on Reavis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shepard, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-32 win against College Prep of America on the 5th.
