Baseball Recap: North Takes a Loss

If North was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Wiseburn- Da Vinci last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North fell just short of Wiseburn- Da Vinci by a score of 6-5 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nicky Gonzalez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

North will take on St. Bernard at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, they will head out to square off against Pioneer at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is facing Pioneer at the right time seeing as Pioneer is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
